Summer season is ideal for Rara Lake trekking and adventure activities. Rara National Park is one of the best national parks in Nepal to see wildlife; leopards, musk deer, ghoral, tahr, Himalayan black bear, and the endangered red panda are all native. The park is also a destination for bird watching especially during November and April when many species of birds visit for their seasonal migration.
The lake itself is perched on a high shelf at 2,980 meters and is protected by Rara National Park, which was established in 1976. The Park covers an area of 106 sq. kilometers. Rara Lake is five kilometers long and two kilometers wide and is the largest lake in Nepal.

NOTE: During adventure trek (Camp or lodge treks) within Nepal Himalayas, weather, local politics, transport or a multitude of other factors beyond our control can result in a change of itinerary. It is, however, very unlikely that the itinerary would be substantially altered; if alterations are necessary the trekking guide / leader will decide what is the best alternative, taking into consideration the best interests of the whole group. Where a change does occur, we do everything we can to minimize its effect, but we cannot be responsible for the results of changes or delays.
