Langtang Region Treks
The Langtang trek goes through the Langtang national Park, which was designated the first Himalayan National Park in 1970. The area extends from north of Kathmandu to the Tibetan border, with the highest peak in this area being Langtang Lirung at 7246m. The Langtang trek starts with a six-hour jeep ride from Kathmandu to Dhunche. Then we walk up through magnificent forests and villages inhabited by people of Tibetan origin.
The Langtang is a region north part of Kathmandu valley and it lies just south of Tibetan border. The Langtang valley is surrounded by high peaks of great appeal. It has become famous ever since the British mountaineer Bill Tilman described it as the most beautiful valley in the world.
The Tamang Heritage Trail takes you through verdant midlands of Nepal experiencing the beauty of this mountain region and the culture of the people who live here.
The Ganjala pass is one of the most challenging passes in Nepal. This wedge in the Himalya is situated at an altitude of 5160m.
We follow a rugged trail with dramatic views; to the west Himal chuli (7893m) Manaslu (8156mm) and Ganesh Himal (7406m). On a clear day, even the Annapurna range can be seen rising up behind and to the north across the valley is Langtang Lirung.
To the north-east of Kathmandu lies a chain of peaks call Jugal Himal, which includes Dorje lakpa 6966mt, Madiya 6257mt and Phurbi Chhyachu 6637mt, From the south is it an easily accessible region, although it required a long upholl climb.
For more ambitious hiking, lasting 3 to 4 days continue from Nagarkot to Shivapuri to Kakani making a hill-top walk around the northern edge of Kathmandu Valley. Evergreen pastures cover the trekking route and the landscape is marvelous.
