Though it is less frequented than the Everest Base Camp route the trek furnish some enormous high altitude trekking and a visit to the second largest glacier in the World. From the top of Gokyo there are some dramatic mountain views including Everest. Gokyo Ri trekking offers an splendid views of Everest Himalayan range with small lodges on the entire route and usually less herded than the base camp trekking and substitute to the traditional trek to Everest base camp.
From Gokyo Ri more of Everest itself is seeable, though from a slightly greater distance, than from kala pattar above gorak Shep.
